Preparing Minds. Living for Christ.
Our Mission
The mission of St. Luke School is to provide each student with an excellent academic education that is Christ-centered by challenging and nurturing the mind, body, and spirit, and by developing responsible servant leadership.
Our History
St. Luke School originated as a ministry of St. Luke Church. Beginning in 1998, a new grade was added each year until, in 2003, we opened the middle school. SLS has continued to grow and now has a student body of 550 and a faculty of 80. As we have expanded, we have upheld high academic standards. This is demonstrated by high test scores and the successful acceptance of our students into the high schools of their choosing. Servant leadership and creating disciples of Jesus are foundational to our identity. We expect our students to engage in classroom mission opportunities. We study the Bible to illustrate how God created each one of us uniquely and imbued us with a strong purpose. We have compiled what we consider the Portrait of a Graduate from St. Luke School, which you can view by clicking here.
Our location on St. Luke Church’s campus provides numerous off-campus learning opportunities. We are just blocks away from Columbus State University’s downtown riverfront campus, the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts, the CSU Coca-Cola Space Science Center, the Muscogee County Government Center, the Columbus Riverwalk, the Springer Opera House, and many downtown businesses, law offices, and financial institutions. Whether it is visiting Mars at the CSU Coca-Cola Space and Science Center, seeing a play at the state theater of Georgia, or observing how the three branches of government collaborate at the Government Center, we capitalize on our location with field trips and experiences downtown.
